Atom the Beginning Premiere Date & Cast Details Revealed

The official website for the Atom the Beginning anime series has updated with the cast details and premiere date for the series.  The series will debut on Saturday, April 15 at 11:00 P.M. JPST on NHK and will later be available on Amazon Prime Japan starting at 1:30 A.M. JPST on Sunday, April 16.

Atom the Beginning will be featured on a stage show event that will be held at AnimeJapan 2017 in Tokyo on March 26.  The show will feature Nakumura, Inoue, Sakurai, Komatsu, and Sakura.

The series takes place in Japan 30 years before the events of Astro Boy.   In order to combat the dangers of the world caused by robots and natural disasters, two scientists Umataro Tenma and Hiroshi Ochanomizu work to together to create a humanoid robot called A106.  Tenma plans to turn A106 into a “god” while Ochanomizu wants it to be a “friend.”  What will become of A106?

The cast includes:

  • Yūichi Nakamura – Umatarō Tenma
  • Takuma Terashima – Hiroshi Ochanomizu
  • Yūki Inoue –  A106 (“A-ten-six”)
  • Takahiro Sakurai – Moriya Tsutsumi
  • Mikako Komatsu – Motoko Tsutsumi
  • Ayane Sakura – Ran Ochanomizu
  • Kengo Kawanishi – Kensaku Han
  • Nobuo Tobita – Shunsaku Han
  • Yoshino Nanjō – Maria

The first trailer and production cast for the series were revealed last November. 

The official site also revealed a new visual for the series.
