Bandai Namco Announces Western Release for Ultra Kaiju Monster Rancher

Last Wednesday, during the Japanese edition of the June Nintendo Direct Mini, it previewed an all-new Ultra Series video game. However, it is also a collaboration and spin-off of the Monster Farm (Monster Rancher in North America) series. Titled, Ultra Kaiju Monster Rancher, it will be a Monster Farm game that exclusively features the Ultra Series’ monsters. In addition, the game’s roster will expands past 200 characters, and include the series’ iconic aliens alongside the monsters. Furthermore, the game will be NFC compatible like the previously released Monster Rancher 1 & 2 Deluxe Editions. So, the upcoming game could use actual Ultraman toys like Ultraman Orb’s Ultra Fusion Cards, or Ultraman Z’s Ultra Medals.

Now, the game, Ultra Kaiju Monster Rancher, originally was only stated to be releasing in Asia markets. However, recently during the Bandai Namco panel at Anime Expo, it was confirmed to be receiving a Western release. Unfortunately, the game will not have a physical release, but it will be released digitally for late 2022. Currently, the only system that this game will be available for is the Nintendo Switch. Yet, a port for Steam may be made available at a later date like the Monster Rancher 1 & 2 Deluxe Editions. Nevertheless, this announcement is a major victory for North American Ultraman fans, and we look forward to the game’s release!
