Benedict Cumberbatch to Reprise Doctor Strange in “Spider-Man 3”

The Hollywood Reporter has reported that Benedict Cumberbatch will be reprising his role as Doctor Strange in the third Spider-Man MCU film. According to The Hollywood Reporter he will be filling the new mentor role to Peter Parker (Tom Holland) in the upcoming film. This news leads to a more potential aftermath of the events of Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness involving the return of Jamie Fox’s Electro and other reoccurring characters.  As reported earlier, filming for the film is set to start filming later this month in Atlanta. This will parallel the filming of Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness in London, which is set to film around the same time. No other details are confirmed at this time so stay tuned for updates.

This news really leads to more puzzling thoughts about Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. The amount of rumored cast members is at an astounding level and while it sounds exciting it also sounds just as frightening. The film does seem to look a bit bloated and it does lead to some worry how it will affect future films. Bendict’s return seems great overall, however hopefully Spidey will have a stronger singular role in this third film without feeling like baggage to Tony Stark as seen in his previous appearances. That being said I do hope that this will also lead to Tony’s final farewell and not leave any extra residual remarks with mentor role being passed on.
