Casting News: The Ray for DCTV

Evening heroes, we have some casting news for the DCTV Universe. They’ve found “The Ray” who is a character that will be starring in his own animated series on the CW Seed. I find it weird that his first appearance will be in live-action and then we will get his animated series to my knowledge. Anyway, actor Russell Tovey will be playing Raymond “Ray” Terrill not only in live-action but he will be doing the voice acting when the animated series drops. Check out the character description down below and let us know what you think.

Raymond “Ray” Terrill was a reporter who discovered a group of government scientists working on a secret project to turn light into a weapon of mass destruction. But before he could report on his findings, the project head exposed Ray to a “genetic light bomb.” The bomb failed to kill him and instead gifted Ray with light-based powers. With these abilities, Ray realized he could go beyond reporting on injustice — he could take action to help stop it. Calling himself The Ray, he was recruited by Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fighters to fight violence and oppression wherever it exists.

I don’t know how to feel, I mean I never heard of this character until his solo Rebirth issue came out. So I thought he was a new character, instead, he first appeared in Justice League of America back in 1973. This iteration is gay instead of straight. I don’t see how different that’s going to make him since I’m still not a big Ray fan since I’ve never read anything with him in it to become one. Knowing the Internet they will be upset that another character is “gay” instead of the usual “straight” and like always they will get over it or complain as loud as they want to. I guess not in the mood. Anyway, I’m still XBen3000 and I’m out!
