Dan Slott Leaving Amazing Spider-Man

Happy Friday Heroes! Today we’ve learned that Dan Slott will be leaving the Amazing Spider-Man. I know I’m shocked and I’m certain Spider-Man fans are surprised too. I mean Slott has been writing the main Spider-Man title since 2008 with Brand New Day and has put Peter on a roller coaster. From Superior Spider-Man, Spider Island, Spider-Verse, and so many other events that I can’t remember everything off the top of my head. The point being, he’s putting his web shooters down and leaving the series come June. That’s right The Amazing Spider-Man No. 801 will be his last issue. To quote the Vulture interview as to what he will be doing next.

I am going from the flagship character of the Marvel Comics of my youth to the gem of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The linchpin. I am going to Iron Man.

I have to say I didn’t see that move coming at all. I thought he would go to DC Comics or another publisher but I’m glad he’s finally getting to do another character. Who knows, his Iron Man run could be better than his Spider-Man run. Then again I have no clue if he’s going to write this character for 10 years as he’s done with Spider-Man. Overall, I’m looking forward to seeing who will write Spider-Man next. I’m hoping it’s a new writer but I got a feeling someone from within Marvel will be writing the character. I just don’t know who I would pick to take on that character. As for Iron Man, I’m sure Slott has some fun things planned for the futurist himself.

As always let us know what you think down below. I’m still XBen3000 and I’m out!
