We have some great news when it comes to DC Animated movies as they announced four films that will be coming out next year. I think I am losing my mind over this news because I have to admit, I have not really watched more of the recent DC Animated films. They just have not been my taste if I am being honest. That is not to say they do not have quality. In my opinion, I would love for them to make these projects bigger, and maybe have some that are for all ages than for older fans. I think we older fans get spoiled by seeing some of these iconic stories being brought to life each year.
To start this off we have Batman Hush that is being scheduled to come to life. I personally love this story and I wish it was a plot for a live-action Batman film, but that is just a pipe dream. Continuing from there we have the Reign of Superman which is part two of “The Death of Superman” storyline. I was not too big on that particular storyline but I am glad to see it being brought to life regardless. I guess this means will be seeing Steel, Cyborg Superman, and Conner Kent making their DCAU debuts.
Spring 2019, we are getting the return of the Justice League with Justice League vs The Fatal Five. This story was a Legion of Super Hero storyline that featured Tharok, Emerald Empress, Validus, Mano, and the Persuader. From DC Comics themselves, it seems like much is not known about this story at this time. It could be a present or future story. We have no clue if the Legion will appear, or even who will be the members of the Justice League during this time, so my interest has been peaked.
Finally, Wonder Woman is getting another animated movie, ten years after the fan-favorite animated movie which speaks volumes. It has taken DC and WB so much time to do another Wonder Woman animated film whereas, we get a new Batman or Superman film near yearly. That said, it is an original animated movie called Wonder Woman: Bloodlines. Outside of that, we know nothing about the film, and I am fine with that. I am just hopeful that they knock it out the park with Wonder Woman again.
