DC Comics “Metal Men” Animated Film in Production

The Hollywood Reporter has reported that a new animated film project based on DC Comics’ Metal Men is currently in production. According to the reports, Ron Clements and John Musker will be working on the project alongside Celeste Ballard. Clements and Musker are best known for their work at Disney with films such as The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and The Princess of the Frog, while Ballard recently worked as a writer for Space Jam: A New Legacy. Clements and Musker will be working as producer on the project and are also working towards being directors as well.

The film is based on the “Metal Men,” who were created by Robert Kanigher and Ross Andru. The characters made their debut in Showcase #37, which was released in 1962. “The Metal Men” are a group of superheroes created by scientist Dr. Willian “Will” Magnus.” The team consists of Gold, Iron, Lead, Mercury, Tin, and Platinum, who all have their own unique personalities and traits. No other details are confirmed about the project at this time so stay tuned for updates.
