THe official Star Wars Youtube channel has updated with an announcement trailer for Star Wars: Eclipse, which was first shown at the Game Awards 2021. While not much is known about the game outside of the initial announcement, it has been confirmed at that the game will be developed by Quantic Dream SA and will be set in the High Republic era. For those who are not aware, the High Republic takes place roughly 200 years before the Star Wars films and 800 years after the fall of the “Old Republic”.

Set during the High Republic era, Star Wars Eclipse™ is an intricately branching action-adventure game that can be experienced in many ways, and puts the destinies of multiple playable characters in your hands, created in collaboration between Quantic Dream and Lucasfilm Games.
After seeing the trailer I must admit I was shocked when I first saw the announcement. It is great to see what looks to be another Star Wars adventure game and also set in an era that currently is exclusive to the comics and books. That being said since this was all cinematics it is hard to make a true assessment of the game so I will be waiting patiently for some gameplay footage
