Hawkeye Series Heading to Disney+

Variety has reported that a series based on Hawkeye is in the works for the Disney+ streaming service. Jeremy Renner is reported to return to reprise his role. The series is said to revolve around Clint Barton a.k.a. Hawkeye passing the torch to Kate Bishop. In the comics, Katherine “Kate” Bishop was introduced in Young Avengers #1, which was released in April 2005. She was created by Allan Heinberg and Jim Cheung.

Jeremy Renner has appeared as Hawkeye in several films within the Marvel Cinematic Universe starting with Thor and recently made an an appearance in Captain America: Civil War. While he has been away from the recent films, he will be making an reappearance in Avengers: Endgame. 

The newly announced series will be among the various series based on characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that will be streamed on the platform. Other confirmed productions include a series based on Loki, Scarlet Witch, Bucky and Falcon. Similar to the other productions the series is set to consist of six to eight episodes.
