Jim Carrey in Negotiations to Portray Doctor Robotnik in Live-Action ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ Film

Variety has reported that Jim Carrey is in negotiations to portray Doctor Robotnik in the upcoming live-action adaptation of the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. At this point in time it is unknown if he would be voicing a CGI representation of the character or if he will be playing the character on screen in costume. For those who are unaware, Doctor Robotnik (also known as Eggman or Dr. Eggman) is the main villain of the Sonic the Hedgehog game franchise.

Earlier this May, it was revealed that James Marsden will be playing a currently unknown character in the film. Currently no other cast members or other details are confirmed at this time so stay tuned for updates.

The live-action Sonic the Hedgehog film is set to premiere on November 15, 2019.
