Katsucon Hosts Lupin III: Part IV English Dub Premiere

Katsucon’s 2017 Guidebookee2d3bb6a90a2c471c18a7eed18ff0691451338768_full updated on Tuesday, revealing the con will host the English Dub premiere for Lupin III: Part IV. The screening is set for Saturday, February 18th from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. EST. The dub features a reunion of the cast from Lupin III: Part II; Tony Oliver is Lupin III, Lex Lang is Ishikawa, Richard Epcar is Jigen, and Michelle Ruff is Fujiko. However, Zenigata is no longer Jake Martin, who is replaced by Doug Erholtz. The director of the dub is also Richard Epar (Jigen) alongside Ellyn Stern.

Katsucon’s Official Description:

A beloved classic franchise; LUPIN THE 3rd PART4 will be the first full-fledged Lupin the 3rd television series to air since 1984; when Lupin the 3rd Part 3 aired. The new story takes place in Italy and San Marino; and features a blue-jacketed Lupin in his 20s. Lupin the 3rd follows the escapades and adventures of master thief Arsene Lupin III; a brilliant thief who has been able to carry off heists no one ever thought possible. Although he has been arrested and jailed on multiple occasions; he has always managed to escape.

Discotek Media will release the series on home video later in 2017. The series originally aired in 2015, and was simulcast on Crunchyroll for international audiences in 2016. It was directed by Kazuhide Tomonaga (Lupin III: The Mystery of Mamo, Lupin III: Castle of Caliostro) and Yuichiro Yano. Writer Yuuya Takahashi (Tiger & Bunny) controlled the series scripts, as Yuji Ohno once again composed the score.

Katsucon takes place at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland. The Convention will run from February 17th to 19th.
