Today, Toei held the official press conference to unveil the cast of the next Super Sentai series, Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger. This series will be the 43rd installment in the long running series that has become the source material for Power Rangers. However, while this is the 43rd series in the franchise, the Ryusoulgers themselves are officially the 44th Super Sentai team.
The Ryusoulgers consists of:
- Hayate Ichinose – Kou, RyusoulRed
- Keito Tsuna – Melt, RyusoulBlue
- Ichika Osaki – Asuna, RyusoulPink
- Yuito Obara – Towa, RyusoulGreen
- Tatsuya Kishida – Banba, RyuosoulBlack
Supporting cast includes:
- Mitsuru Fukikoshi – Naohisa Tatsui, a paleontologist
- Mana Kinjo – Ui Tatsui, a V-logger & Naohisa’s daughter
The press conference also revealed that the mecha will talk in this series, however only Tyramigo’s (Kou’s partner) voice actor is currently confirmed. Tyramigo’s voice will be provided by Terasama Masaki, known for roles as Shadowmoon (Kamen Rider Black) and Kintaros (Kamen Rider Den-O). In addition, Joji Nakata will be voicing a Druidon general, Tankjou. Nakata is another well known voice actor in the anime industry, as well as formerly portraying Great Professor Bias from Chojuu Sentai Liveman. Furthermore, Ryoko Shiraishi will be providing voice for another Druidon general, Cleon.
Toei also provided a summary for the series:
65 million years ago, the Druidon alien race attacked the Earth! However, they left when the dinosaurs went extinct, but the Ryusoulger of that era knew they would return some day. The ancient Ryusoul Tribe then sealed away their weapons and powers for the day when the Druidon race returned. Now, in the present day the Druidon race returns and the descendants of the Ryusoul Tribe come forth to face their enemies once more!
Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger will be directed by Kazuya Kamihoriuchi better know for his work on Kamen Rider series and films in recent years. The series is written by Junpei Yamaoka, which makes this his first tokusatsu series. In addition, the series will produced by both, Shinya Maruyama (Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon) and Kazuhiro Takahashi (Kamen Rider Ghost). Furthermore, Project.R member Tomohiro Hanato recently announced he will be performing the official opening theme song for the series.
Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger will replace Kaito Sentai Lupinranger VS Keisatsu Sentai Patranger on March 17 at 9:30 am. However, between the conclusion of Kaito Sentai Lupinranger VS Keisatsu Sentai Patranger and Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger, TV Asahi will be broadcasting a four week event known as the Super Sentai Strongest Battle. The event will bring together several Sentai teams being paired together to face-off in an incredible tournament/ battle royal.
