Deadline has reported that Lewis Tan, Jessica McNamee, and Josh Lawson have joined the cast of New Line’s Mortal Kombat film. While Tan’s role has not been confirmed at this time, Jessica and Josh will be portraying Sonya Blade and Kano, respectively.
The confirmed cast of the film so far includes:
- Joe Taslim: Sub-Zero
- Mehcad Brooks: Jackson ‘Jax’ Briggs
- Sisi Stringer: Mileena
- Ludi Lin: Liu Kang
- Tadanobu Asano: Raiden
- Lewis Tan: TBA
- Jessica McNamee: Sonya Blade
- Josh Lawson: Kano
Earlier it was reported that Simon McQuoid will be making his directorial debut with the project and the current screenplay for the film was written by Greg Russo. Todd Garner will be working as the main producer while Larry Kasanoff, E. Bennett Walsh, Michael Clear and Sean Robins working as executive producers.
No other details are confirmed at this time so stay tuned for updates. The film is currently set for a March 5, 2021 release.
