Live-Action Pac-Man Film in Development

The Hollywood Reporter has reported that a live-action film adaptation of the Pac-Man game franchise is in the works. According to the reports, Bandai Namco Entertainment is teaming up with Wayfarer Studios to produce the project. The project is based on the original idea from Lightbeam Entertainment’s Chuck Williams. Wayfarer Studios’ Manu Gargi and Andrew Calof will produce the film alongside Lightbeam Entertainment’s Williams and Tim Kwok.

For those who are not aware, Pac-Man also known as Puck-Man in Japan, was created by Toru Iwatani. The game was originally conceived as an arcade game and was released by Namco in 1980. The arcade was later released in the U.S by Bally Midway. The game received several ports and new titles experimented with different genres such as the platforming spin-off series Pac-Man World and more. No other details about the project have been confirmed at this time of writing so stay tune for updates.
