March 2020 Nintendo Direct Mini Streamed

Nintendo recently released a new Nintendo Direct Mini earlier this morning that revealed updates on some of the upcoming games that will be released for the Nintendo Switch. Keep in mind due to the current COVID-19, several games shown in this presentation may be delayed.

First, Nintendo took another look at Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition. For those who are not aware, the game is an updated port of Xenoblade Chronicles, which was released for the Nintendo Wii in 2012. The updated game will also feature a brand new epilogue titled, “Xenoblade Chronicles Future Connected.” Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition will be released on May 29. A special edition of the game called the Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Works set will also be released on May 29.

The set includes:

  • Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition
  • Premium Artbook with Slip Case

Next, the direct revealed that several games from 2K Games will also be making their way onto the Nintendo Switch. The confirmed titles are Bioshock The Collection, Borderlands Legendary Collection, and XCom 2 Collection. All three titles will be released on May 29.

Third, the direct featured a new trailer for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order, which features a look at the Shadow of Doom expansion. The Shadow of Doom expansion is available now.

Fourth, the direct revealed that Shinsekai: Into the Depths will be making its way onto the Nintendo Switch today. For those who are not aware, Capcom first released this game exclusively for the Apple Arcade in 2019.

Fifth, the direct featured a look at the upcoming free update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Those who downloaded the 1.1.0 update will soon be able to meet Zipper, who is the host of the Easter event in the game. Players will be able to find Easter eggs throughout the island, which can used to craft event exclusive items. The “Bunny Day” event will run on April 1-12. Additionally a second free update will be released in April that will feature the Earth Day event and more.

Sixth, the direct featured a look at Good Job!, which is a multiplayer puzzle game. Players will be playing as the child of a CEO who must literally climb the “corporate ladder.” Players will be using various objects scattered across rooms in order to solve puzzles and make their way to the top. Good Job! is available on the Eshop now.

Seventh, it is been revealed that Catherine: Full Body will be released for the Nintendo Switch on July 7.

Eighth, the direct revealed that a new update for Ring Fit Adventure will be released today, The update will bring a new Rhythm Game mode where players will need to match the beat. The mode will feature 17 tracks including music tracks from Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, and Splatoon 2. The update will also feature new voice options for Ring as well as Language options. Additionally, the updatGune will also feature new Jogging options in both custom and quick play modes.

Ninth, the direct revealed that King’s Bounty II will be released for the Nintendo Switch. The game will released sometime in 2020.

Tenth, Nintendo revealed that the first fighter in the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass Vol. 2.  will be a character from Arms. While they didn’t specify which character at this time, it has been revealed that the character will be announced and released this June. 

Eleventh, Nintendo announced that another Arms trial will be released exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online Members. The trail is currently live and will run until April 7.

Twelfth, Nintendo revealed a new trailer for Bravely Default 2. The trailer featured a deeper look at the game’s story and some of the game mechanics. Nintendo also revealed that a demo for the game is now available on the eShop. Bravely Default 2 will released later in 2020.

Thirteen, Nintendo revealed Club House Games Worldwide Classics, which is a collection of various table top games. The game will be released on June 5.

Fourteen, Nintendo revealed that Ninjala will be released on May 27.

Fifteenth, Nintendo confirmed the release date for Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. For those who are not aware, the game was announced alongside the Nintendo Switch release of Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast. The game is currently available on the eShop. Additionally, Nintendo also revealed at Star Wars Episode 1: Racer will also be released for the Nintendo Switch.

Sixteenth, Nintendo revealed the release date for Panzer Dragoon: Remake is now available on the eShop.

Seventeenth, Nintendo revealed a showcase of some other upcoming titles for the Nintendo Switch.

The games include:

  • Trials of Mana – April 24, 2020
  • Fuser – Fall 2020
  • The Elder Scrolls: Blades – Spring 2020
  • Warhammer 40,000: Machanicus – May 2020
  • Vigor – Closed Beta (April 9, 2020)
  • Burnout Paradise Remastered – 2020
  • Saints Row: IV – Re-Elected – March 27
  • The Legend of Heroes: Trails of of Cold Steel III – June 30, 2020
  • Mr. Driller DrillLand – June 25, 2020
  • Minecraft Dungeons – Spring 2020

Lastly, the direct featured a look at the Isle of Armor expansion for Pokémon Sword & Pokémon Shield. In the expansion players will be tasked to train Kubfu. Players will be able to travel to the Towers of the Two Fists, where they will chose between the Tower of Darkness or the Tower of Waters. Keep in mind once a tower is chosen they cannot chose the other tower. Players who conquer the tower will be able to evolve their Kubfu into Urshifu. By choosing to challenge the Tower of Darkness their Urshifu will be able to learn Single Strike Style while those who chose the Tower of Waters will be able to teach their Urshifu the Rapid Strike Style.

Additionally, after conquering either tower players’ starter Pokémon will be able to learn new G-Max moves

The moves include:

  • Rillaboom – G-Max Drum Solo
  • Cinderace – G-Max Fireball
  • Inteleon – G-Max Hydro Snipe

The Isle of Armor Expansion will be released at the end of June while The Crown Tundra will be released this Fall.
