Hasbro Studios has announced that they are currently producing a new animated series based on the Micronauts. For those who are unaware, the Micronauts was a series of toys released by Mego in 1976. The toyline was based on the Microman toyline that was created by Takara in 1974. An animated series was planned to be produced by the joint team of AGE, Annex Entertainment, Gribouille and Kaleidoscope Media Group in 1998, however it was shortly cancelled.
The new animated series will be produced by Boulder Media Limited and is set to premiere in 2019. The series is set to target 6-11 year old viewers and the first season will consist of 26 and each episode will run for 22 minutes.
Micronauts will feature a teenager named Cameron Ruck and with the help of his allies they will fight against the evil Baron Karza.
A feature film based on the property is also currently in the works by Paramount, which is currently set for an October 16, 2020 premiere.
