Monster Rancher 1&2 DX Announced

Koei Tecmo America has updated their official Youtube channel with the announcement trailer for Monster Rancher 1&2 DX. For those who are not aware, the game is a collection of the first two Monster Rancher games. The Monster Rancher franchise also known as Monster Farm in Japan was created by Tecmo in the early 90s. The first two titles were released in North America in 1997 and in 1999. Both games were released for the original Playstation and featured a system where the user would be able to use compatible CDs to generate new monsters. Later versions of the game would still maintain the CD system, but instead use a database in order to generate new monsters. Both games previous received a port last year for Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android devices, however it was only in Japan.

The Monster Rancher series originally launched with a unique feature that allowed players to use physical CDs to generate monsters in the game, with each CD having a unique ID that would spawn a different monster. This feature has been re-worked in Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX, allowing players to search a database to find their desired CD and generate a monster from its data. Enjoy searching a vast database of songs from around the world and generating monsters based off of some of your favorite music!

Monster Rancher 1&2 DX will be released for the Nintendo Switch and PC on December 9, 2021.
