Today, Netflix released a full trailer for the upcoming live-action Death Note movie. This new 2-minute trailer finally sheds some light onto the shinigami known as Ryuk. Willem Dafoe’s villainous-like voice cuts through immensely, giving Ryuk that menacing and mysterious facade. The trailer also gives fans a look at how Kira/ Light attempts to change the world. In addition, the trailer presents the possibility that the battle between Light, and L maybe depicted as a more upfront; as in the two are seemingly straight-forward with one another. However, that can all just be how the trailer wants the viewers to see it. Furthermore, there seems to be a lot of ridiculous things being destroyed, or blown up in this movie and it tries to imply that Kira and the Death Note are to blame.
Intoxicated by the power of a supernatural notebook, a young man begins killing those he deems unworthy of life. Based on the famous Japanese manga. Death Note streams on Netflix August 25.
