Entertainment Weekly has revealed the first look at two of the new Decepticons that will be featured in Bumblebee: the Movie.
The first Decepticon is named Shatter, who transforms into a cherry-red Plymouth Satellite. The character will be voiced by Angela Bassett, marking the first female Decepticon in the live-action Transformers films.
The second Decepticon is named Dropkick, who transforms into a blue AMC Javelin. The character will be voiced by Justin Theroux.
Travis Knight, the director of the film had this to say about the characters.
“When the cast is too big, and you have a finite amount of time, there’s only so much you can do to create an investment in them,” Knight says. “This is a more personal, intimate, and character-driven story, so it felt right to keep the villain plot relatively simple and contained. If you keep things lean, you can add a lot of other stuff on top of it that makes it more enjoyable.”
Bumblebee: The Movie is set to premiere in theaters on December 21.
Expect more details about the film to revealed at San Diego Comic Con 2018.
