The recent issue of the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine has revealed some new details about the upcoming OVA for the Yu Yu Hakusho anime series. The OVA will be an adaption of the “Two Shot” bonus chapter that was featured in the seventh volume of the manga. The OVA will also feature the events of the “All or Nothing,” chapter of the manga. The “Two Shot” chapter features the story of how Kurama and Hiei first met. Whereas, the “All or Nothing” chapter features the main characters working together to stop a hostage crisis within the spirit world.
The OVA will feature the return of the main cast of the anime series and Noriyuki Abe will return to reprise his production duties at Studio Pierrot.
The returning cast members include:
- Nozomu Sasaki: Yusuke Urameshi
- Shigeru Chiba: Kazuma Kuwabara
- Megumi Ogata: Kurama
- Nobuyuki Hiyama: Hiei
The OVA will be released with the fourth part of the 25th Anniversary Blu-Ray Box Collection, which will be released in Japan on October 26. The first set, which will be released on July 27, will include the “Spirit Detective” arc (episodes 1-26) and will include both films. The second set will include the 40 episode “Dark Tournament” arc and will be released on August 28. The third set will feature the 18 episode “Demon World” arc along with the new OVA. The third set will be released in Japan on September 26. All four sets will include both the clean opening and ending themes.
