The official Star Trek website has updated with the announcement that Playmates Toys will be returning to the Final Frontier. Playmates Toys and ViacomCBS Consumer Products have announced that have the license rights to produce figures, vehicles, role play, and more for the Star Trek franchise in 2022.
According to the report, Playmates Toys will be producing products for Star Trek Prodigy, Star Trek Discovery, Star Trek Lower Decks, and Star Trek Picard. For those who are not aware, Playmates Toys originally produced products in 1992-1999. The product line spread from across multiple productions such as the original Star Trek and all the way up to Star Trek Voyager. Later the company released products based on the 2009 Star Trek reboot film. No other details are confirmed at this time of writing so stay tuned for updates.
