RRPG’s Final Fantasy Retrospective – Episode 9 Final Fantasy XII & Ivalice

Hero Club is proud to present the newest installment of RRPG’s Final Fantasy Retrospective! In Episode 9, I, RRPG talk about the game designer named Yasumi Matsuno who would become one of the most prolific individuals in the Japanese video game industry. For those unaware, Mr. Matsuno is responsible for creating a mythology that surrounds a world he would conceive called Ivalice.

Alternate titles in the franchise like Final Fantasy Tactics, Vagrant Story, and Final Fantasy Tactics Advance highlighted how much potential that the world of Ivalice featured. With each game continuing to build upon itself before Ivalice would become the center of the twelfth and mainline installment in the franchise. However, Final Fantasy XII would be the turning point where Ivalice would become a financial stalemate where future games would only obtain moderate success instead of widespread acclaim that fans hoped it would achieve. Overall, the retrospective will feature all the games that center on Ivalice including Fortress from the now defunct GRIN, the chronology of the game’s world, and the outlook on its future for its vocal minority. All of that and more in Episode 9 of RRPG’s Final Fantasy Retrospective!
