The newest issue of Akita Shoten’s Champion RED magazine revealed that Masami Kurumada’s Saint Seiya: Next Dimension – The Myth of Hades manga will resume. The series will return with a new serialization in Akita Shoten’s Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine, but a date has not been confirmed. Saint Seiya: Next Dimension – The Myth of Hades ended its previous run in June 2018, with Kurumada serializing the series since 2006. Whereas, Akita Shoten released the 12th volume in May 2018.
Also, the magazine revealed that the original Saint Seiya will have a ‘Final Edition’ re-release in Japan in 2020. The Saint Seiya ‘Final Edition’ is set to include new cover art and new original stories. Kurumada published the original series from 1986 to 1990, which inspired several televised anime series, original video projects, films and spin-off manga. Also, a live-action Hollywood film for the franchise has been green-lit.
In North America, Viz Media published the original manga under the title, Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac. DiC Entertainment released the original Toei Animation anime with an English dub as Knights of the Zodiac, and later released unedited by ADV Films as Saint Seiya. Netflix currently added 41 episodes of the 1986 anime series with a new English dub and subtitles in October. However, Netflix prompts that more episodes will be added on January 1, 2020.
