Samurai Rabbit: The Usagi Chronicles Animated Series Announced

Several years ago it was reported that a CG animated series based on Usagi Yojimbo was in the works. It was also reported that Dark Horse Entertainment, James Wan and Stan Sakai would be producing the series. Today, Variety has reported that the series will be heading to Netflix. The series will be titled, “Samurai Rabbit: The Usagi Chronicles,” will focus on Miyamamoto Usagi’s descendant named Yuichi. He will be going on a quest alongside several heroes as they fight against monsters and more in order to become the best samurai Usagi.

Executive producers on the project include; James Wan, Stan Sakai, Nicolas Atlan, Terry Kalagian, Sidonie Dumas, Christophe Riandee, Mike Richardson, Keith Goldberg, Chris Tongue, Michael Clear, and Rob Hackett.  Candie and Doug Langdale will also work double duty as the executive producers and showrunners on the project. Ben Jones will be brought on as the supervising producer and Khang Le will be work as the art director.  88 Pictures will be working as the CGI animation studio for the project.
