Supergirl Movie in Production at Warner Brothers

Deadline has reported that Warner Brothers is currently producing a new live-action film based on DC Comics’ SupergirlFor those who are unfamiliar with the character, Supergirl is the alter ego of Superman’s cousin, Kara Zor-El. The character made her debut appearance in Action Comics #252, which was released in May 1959.  Not much is known about the project outside of Oren Uziel, who will be working on the film’s script.

For those who aren’t aware this will not the first time Supergirl was adapted into live-action as she also appeared as the main character of the 1984 Supergirl film. The character also has a prominent appearance as the main character of her own television show, which first debuted on CBS and was later added as a part of the Arrowverse starting from the show’s second season.

No other details are confirmed at this time so stay tuned for updates. Fans, what do you think of this news? Do you feel as though this could be our “Man of Steel” sequel and having it focus on Kara and her journey with Superman having a cameo or bigger role as the film progresses. That way, in a sense it’s a sequel without it focusing completely on Clark and his journey.
