Anime Expo 2018: Maiden Japan Licenses Ideon, Xabungle, Votoms & More!

Yesterday, Section23’s Maiden Japan announced it acquired the licenses for eight anime series. Out of the eight titles, three are classic Mecha anime series produced at Sunrise with two series being directed by Yoshiyuki Tomino.   Maiden Japan licensed these series: Space Runawy Ideon, was Yoshiyuki Tomino’s first project following the release of Mobile Suit Gundam. Anime Expo 2018: Live-Action Gundam Film Announced

ANN has recently reported about their coverage at the Sunrise panel at Anime Expo 2018, which revealed that Yasuo Miyakawa, Sunrise’s president and CEO, has recently announced that a live-action adaptation of the Gundam franchise is in the works. The film will be produced by Sunrise with the help of Legendary Pictures.  According to the teaser trailer that was reveal at the panel it is stated that “co-production has begun” from both sides of the production. Bandai America has updated their official Twitter page with an announcement for their exclusives at Anime Expo 2018. Fans will be able to purchase the Dragon Stars Exclusive Saiyan Evolution 3-Pack priced at $80 and the Golden Frieza Edition Scouter priced at $50.  The Dragon Stars Exclusive Saiyan Evolution 3-Pack includes alternate versions of base Goku (with Whis Symbol) and SS Blue Goku as well as a brand new SS God Goku figure. Both items will be available at the FUNimation booth (#3000) at the convention. Anime Expo has announced that they will be hosting the world premiere of the SSSS.Gridman anime series with the creators, Shigeto Koyama and Hiromi Wakabaysahi, as the hosts for the event. Masaru Sakamoto (Animation/ Character Designer) and Masato Takeuchi (Animation Producer) will also be featured hosts during the Q&A session during the SSSS. Studio Trigger Announces 3 New Titles, Including Denkou Choujin Gridman

Today during Anime Expo 2017, Studio Trigger announced three of its new titles. Among these new titles is an adaptation for Tsuburaya Productions’ tokusatsu series, Denkou Choujin Gridman! Gridman was an innovative tokusatsu series that used D-2 digital video, and the series ran from 1993 to 1994 for a total of 39-episodes.
