Banpresto Dissolves & Merges with Bandai Spirits

Today, the toy company Banpresto has been dissolved and merged into Bandai Namco Holdings’ subsidiary, Bandai Spirits. This news was reported via the National Printing Bureau’s Kanpō publication which revealed Bandai Spirits has taken over all rights and duties of the former company.   Banpresto was originally founded in 1977, as Hoei Sangyo, Co. Bandai Namco Acquires Bluefin; Bandai Namco Collectibles is Born

Interesting news has broke online regarding Bluefin Corp, otherwise referred to as Bluefin Tamashii, the Japanese toy distributor. On Wednesday, Bandai Namco Holdings announced that they acquired an 80% controlling stake in Nippon Imports, LLC, the company that owns and operates Bluefin. Now, with this transaction Bandai Namco will establish a new subsidiary, Bandai Namco Collectibles in October that will continue operations under Bluefin.
