Taika Waititi to Direct & Co-write Theatrical Star Wars Film

The official Star Wars website has updated with an announcement that Taika Waititi will be directing and co-writing a theatrical Star Wars film. Additionally, Krysty Wilson-Cairns will be joining him on the project as a screenplay writer for the film as well. Joby Harold to Write Obi-Wan Series

Variety has reported that Joby Harold has been hired to write the Disney+ Obi-Wan series. Earlier last year it was reported that Hossein Amini would be the head writer for the series, although he has since left the project. Outside of Amini, it was reported that Ewan McGregor, Kathleen Kennedy, Tracey Seaward, John Swartz and Jason McGatlin were announced as producers on the project. Additionally, production for the project was initially set to start in August 2020, however it is now set to start production in January 2021. No other details are confirmed at this time…

Warner Brothers has recently released a new trailer for Birds of Prey. The latest trailer features a closer look at the team and another look at the setting of the film. Some highlights include a look at the Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) in costume and Roman Sionis (Ewan McGregor) putting on the mask. Deborah Chow to Direct Disney+ “Obi-Wan Kenobi” Series

The official Star Wars website has updated with an announcement that Deborah Chow will be directing the upcoming Disney+ exclusive series based on Obi Wan Kenobi. Hossein Amini will be working as the writer on the project. Chow will serve double duty as an executive producer with the help of Amini, Ewan McGregor, Kathleen Kennedy, Tracey Seaward, and John Swartz. Lucasfilm’s Executive Vice President of Production, Jason McGatlin, will work as the co-producer. The official Star Wars website has updated with details about the upcoming productions that will be released on Disney+. Outside of the previously revealed trailer for The Mandalorian Lucasfilm revealed several new details about some of what there is to expect for the platform. First, Lucasfilm revealed that Star Wars: The Clone Wars will be making its’ return in February 2020 on Disney+. Several news outlets have reported that Ewan McGregor is in talks to star in an upcoming Disney+ exclusive live-action series based on Obi-Wan Kenobi. Ewan McGregor in Talks to Play Black Mask in DC’s “Birds of Prey”

Variety has reported that Ewan McGregor is in talks to portray Black Mask in the upcoming DC Extended Universe film, “Birds of Prey.”    For those are not aware, the film will focus on the Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Windstead), Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell), and Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) as they team-up to fight against Black Mask.
