Ed Brubaker to Write “Batman: Caped Crusader”

The Hollywood Reporter has reported that Ed Brubaker has been hired as the head writer for “Batman: Caped Crusader.” For those who are not aware, the series was first announced in 2019. Also reported earlier, the series will be executive produced by Bruce Timm, J.J. Abrams, and Matt Reeves. James Tucker was also confirmed as the co-executive producer. Today, we have learned that the upcoming Blue Beetle film is no longer going to be a HBO Max streaming service exclusive. Instead, the film has been announced to be receiving a theatrical release on August 18, 2023. HBO Max “Black Canary” Film Greenlit

Variety has reported that a live-action film based on the DC Comics character Black Canary has been greenlit for HBO Max. The film will be written by Misha Green.  The film will also see the return of Sue Kroll under her production company, Kroll & Co. Entertainment.  Jurnee Smollet is set to reprise her role as Black Canary in the film, however no other cast members have been revealed.
