Destin Daniel Cretton to Direct Marvel’s ‘Shang-Chi’

The Hollywood Reporter has reported that Destin Daniel Cretton is set to direct Marvel Studios’ Shang-Chi. Cretton is best known for his 2013 film, Short Term 12, and 2017’s The Glass Castle.  For those who are not aware, the character is a Martial Artist of an Asian-American descent. He was created by Steve Engleheart and Jim Starlin. The character made his debut in Special Marvel Edition #15, which was released in December, 1973. Marvel Studios to Produce “Shang-Chi” Live-Action Film

Deadline has reported that Marvel Studios is producing a live-action film based on the character Shang-Chi. For those who are not aware, the character is a Martial Artist of an Asian-American descent. He was created by Steve Engleheart and Jim Starlin. The character made his debut in Special Marvel Edition #15, which was released in December, 1973.
