Over the weekend, Discotek Media updated their twitter page with the several new Anime home video release announcements that was first revealed at Otakon 2018. Discotek Media Licenses Space Wolf Juspion & Message From Space: Galactic Wars

Today at Otakon, Discotek Media announced during their panel that they acquired the license for the fourth Metal Hero series, Space Wolf Juspion. For those unaware, the Metal Hero series are tokusatsu programs produced by Toei. In addition, a handful of these series were adapted in America by Saban Brand as VR Troopers and the Big Bad Beetleborgs. Otakon to Host Studio Trigger & Iron-Blooded Orphans Staff

Con Debrief: Otakon 2017 200 words or less

So Otakon is now in Washington DC. New location, new venue, and same Otakon vibe. Here’s my take on OtakonDC. It was good, I’ve had a month to really sit down and think about it but I believe it worked out for everyone. Otakon 2017: Attendance Numbers

So we have some interesting news regarding Otakon. We finally learned the attendance numbers, something I was interested in seeing. Earlier today Otakon released the magic number 24.984. Going by the numbers we have for last year when they were in Baltimore which was 29,113. It’s safe to say that the attendance numbers were down. I do wonder if Otakon had prepared for a drop of 4,129. I think after a successful first year in my own opinion, I can see the attendance growing. You can say that I’m hopeful…

Otakon 2017 – Discotek Media to Release Cyborg 009: The Cyborg Soldier

Over the weekend Otakon 2017 was held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. At the convention Discotek Media held a panel featuring several new releases.  Among the releases the company announced that they will be releasing Cyborg 009: The Cyber Soldier on Blu-ray and DVD. For those who are unaware Cyborg 009: The Cyborg Solider is an anime series that premiered in Japan in 2001 and also aired on Toonami in 2003.  The series was a retelling of the original 1964 Cyborg 009 manga series.
