So Otakon is now in Washington DC. New location, new venue, and same Otakon vibe. Here’s my take on OtakonDC. It was good, I’ve had a month to really sit down and think about it but I believe it worked out for everyone. Otakon 2017 – Discotek Media to Release Cyborg 009: The Cyborg Soldier

Over the weekend Otakon 2017 was held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. At the convention Discotek Media held a panel featuring several new releases.  Among the releases the company announced that they will be releasing Cyborg 009: The Cyber Soldier on Blu-ray and DVD. For those who are unaware Cyborg 009: The Cyborg Solider is an anime series that premiered in Japan in 2001 and also aired on Toonami in 2003.  The series was a retelling of the original 1964 Cyborg 009 manga series. Aniplex of America to Host Gurren Lagann 10th Anniversary Event at Otakon 2017

Aniplex of America has announced that they will be hosting a 10th Anniversary event for the Gurren Lagann franchise at Otakon 2017 that will be held in Washington D.C.  The panel will feature some of the English dub cast members, which includes Kyle Hebert (Kamina) and Michelle Ruff (Yoko) as well as Tony Oliver.   Aniplex of America also posted an online survey where fans can chose what episode of the series that will be shown at the event.  The results of the survey will be revealed at the event and also via Aniplex of America’s social media.
