Variety has reported that Matt Smith is joining the cast of Star Wars: Episode IX. Currently his role is under wraps, but it is great to see his inclusion in the cast. Matt Smith is most famous for his role as the 11th Doctor in Doctor Who and also as a physical embodiment of Skynet in Terminator Genisys. Deadline has reported that Dominic Monaghan will be joining the cast of Star Wars Episode IX. According to Deadline, Monaghan originally publicized that he was interested in joining the Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens cast so he will soon be joining a world set in a galaxy far far away. Dominic Monaghan is most famous for his role as Merry, one of Frodo’s wingman in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. J.J. Abrams To Write & Direct Star Wars: Episode IX

The official Star Wars website has updated with the announcement that J.J. Abrams will return and direct Star Wars: Episode IX.  For those who are unaware the original director for the film, Colin Trevorrow, left directorial duties earlier last week.  J.J. Abrams will not only direct the film, but will also work as a co-writer with the help of Chris Terrio.  The film is produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Abrams, Bad Robot, and Lucasfilm. New Writer Announced For Star Wars Episode IX

The Hollywood Reporter has reported that a rewrite is in the works for Star Wars Episode IX. To go along with the rewrite the team has added Jack Thorne to help with the script for the upcoming Star Wars sequel.  According to the website’s sources, Jack Thorne will be revising the current script by director Colin Trevorrow and his writing partner, Derek Connolly,  since “a fresh pair of eyes was needed.”   Production for Star Wars Episode IX will start next January and the film is set to premiere on May 24, 2019. No other details are confirmed at this time so stay tuned for…

Star Wars Episode IX & Next Indiana Jones Sequel Premiere Dates Announced

The official Star Wars website has updated with the announcement of premiere dates for Star Wars Episode XI and the next Indiana Jones.    Star Wars Episode XI will premiere on May 24, 2019.  The film will be directed by Colin Trvorrow and will be the final film in the new Star Wars trilogy. The fifth chapter of the Indiana Jones films will premiere on July 10, 2020.  The film will be once again directed by Steven Spielberg and will feature Harrison Ford once again as Indiana Jones.
