Earlier today, Paramount Pictures released the Superbowl LVI big game spot trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Variety has reported that a sequel for the live-action Sonic the Hedgehog film is currently in the works at Paramount Pictures. Jeff Fowler will return to the direct the sequel with Pat Casey and Josh Miller returning to write the script. Neal H. Moritz, Toby Ascher, and Toru Nakahara will also return as producers for the film. Hajime Satomi, Haruki Satomi, and Tim Miller will be working as executive producers. Following the fan backlash towards the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog live-action film due to its animation of the titular character, Paramount Pictures expressed to fans they would be overhauling the design.
