The Hollywood Reporter has reported that Taika Waititi will be returning to delve into the world of Thor once more as the director of the fourth film. For those who are not aware, Taika was the director of the third film installment based on the “God of Thunder” titled, “Thor: Ragnarok.”
Unfortunately it seems the project has caused Warner Bros. to delay the Akira project, however fans will at least be able to see the fourth Thor film as it slated to released on May 21, 2021. No other details are confirmed at this time so stay tuned for updates.
I actually enjoyed Thor: Ragnarok quite a bit especially since it was a good balance of action and comedy. While I did enjoy the first Thor film, the second film Thor: The Dark World did not resonate well for me since it seemed a bit too nitty-gritty for a film based on the character. It did not help that Malekith was not exactly too memorable, so it was good seeing the third film changing its formula. With the return of Taiki it will be interesting to see what is in store for Thor in the future.
