“The World Ends with You” Anime Adaptation Announced

Square Enix has recently opened an official website for the anime adaptation of the “The World Ends with You” video game. For those who are not aware, “The World Ends with You,” was originally released as a game for the Nintendo DS in 2007. A port of the game was later released on mobile devices titled, “The World Ends with You: Solo Remix,” in 2012 for iOS and in 2014 for Android devices. Characters from the game also made a cameo appearance in Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance. The game also received another port tilted, The World Ends with You: Final Remix,” which was released for the Nintendo Switch in 2018.

Nintendo provided a description for the Nintendo Switch version of the game.

Complete the mission…or face erasure. That’s all Neku knows after regaining consciousness in the middle of a busy intersection without his memories. Now he and his partner must fight to survive a life-or-death game in this twisted tale with more turns than the urban labyrinth of Tokyo they’re trapped in.

More details about the anime will be revealed during the Anime Expo Lite online event on Friday July 3 6PM PDT / Saturday July 4:10 AM JST.
