Konami has updated their official Youtube channel with the Tokyo Game Show 2022 announcement trailer for Suikoden I&II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars. For those who are not aware, the game is a remastered collection of the first two Suikoden games. The game franchise was created by Yoshitaka Murayama and the first title was released for the original Playstation in December 1995 in Japan and December 1996 in North America. The sequel was also released for the original Playstation on December 1998 in Japan and August 1999 in North America.
Suikoden I&II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars will be released on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Steam and Nintendo Switch in 2023.
I personally played a bit of the first game but I never actually got to finish it so it is great to see an updated version of the first two games getting released. I know that this is a very loved franchise and it was sad to see it lay dormant for so many years. That being said it is amazing to see a resurgence alongside the spiritual successor, “Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.”
