Uchu Sentai Kyuranger vs. Space Squad 2nd Trailer: Villains Revived

Toei has released an all-new trailer for the upcoming V-Cinema, Uchu Sentai Kyuranger vs. Space Squad. This new trailer reveals more information on the Kyurangers’ Civil War, as well as what the Neo Kyutama is capable of. The powers of the Neo Kyutama if used by the forces of evil can resurrect evils from the pasts like various villains. Luckily enough, Toei’s April Fools Day video already revealed what resurrected villains will appear in this new trailer!

The movie takes place 4 years after the events of Uchu Sentai Kyuranger, as the universe is at peace. However, that is all changed when Hammie attacks the Rebellion, and steals the newly developed Neo Kyutama! Fearing of its possible misuse, Space Federation President Tsurugi Ohtori, declares Hammie as the universe’s most wanted outlaw. Lucky and other Kyurangers believe Hammie must have her reasons for the theft, and stand against Tsurugi’s decision. Thus a rift is formed between the Kyurangers, those who seek to prove Hammie innocent and those that side with Tsurugi; it is a Kyuranger Civil War!

The Neo Kyutama is acquired by Space Ninja Demosuto, an enemy of Sekai Ninja Sen Jiraiya! Demosuto uses the Neo Kyutama to revive four Super Sentai villans: Gekiranger’s Mele (Yuka Hirata), Shikenger’s Juuzo Fuwa (Mitsuru Karahashi), Gokaiger’s Basco ta Jolokia (Kei Hosogai), and Go-Busters’ Escape (Ayame Misaki)! However, Space Sheriff Gavan, Space Sheriff Shaider and Jiraiya are in pursuit of Demosuto! Hopefully these Metal Heroes and members of the Space Squad will save the Kyurangers before they destroy themselves!

Uchu Sentai Kyuranger vs. Space Squad is apart of Toei’s new V-Cinext project, combining direct-to-video productions alongside limited theatrical screenings. The film is written by Uchu Sentai Kyuranger head writer, Nobuhiro Mori and directed by Koichi Sakamoto, who directed the previous installments in the Space Squad series. The film’s theatrical release is set for June whereas, its home-video release is August 8th on both, Blu-ray and DVD.
