Bandai Namco Entertainment launched the website for Accel World vs Sword Art Online: Millennium Twilight based on both of Reki Kawahara’s light novel series. The game itself, had only been announced during the Dengeki Bunko Aki No Saiten 2016 event held earlier in the day. Accel World vs Sword Art Online: Millennium Twilight is scheduled to release next year, and features the tagline, “Cross through time, and the worlds of acceleration and imagination will clash.”
Kawahara’s original story, Sword Art Online was set in the year 2022, and events with in its plot lead to the spin-off of several others games being made in its image, which by 2046 is when Kawahara’s other title, Accel World occurs. Fans tend to either love both or in civil war over which title is the superior tale especially when it pertains to the anime adaptation. Now, I question how this crossover will affect the fandoms for both?!
