Anime Expo 2017: FLCL 2 & FLCL 3 Release Details & Teaser

Today, Production I.G. and Adult Swim revealed at Anime Expo information on the upcoming Fooly Cooly sequels, FLCL 2, and FLCL 3. The panel was hosted by Production I.G.’s Maki Terashima-Furuta, and Toonami’s Jason DeMarco. The two revealed that both, FLCL 2 and FLCL 3, will span six episodes per season, and set to air in 2018. DeMarco also reiterated that Japanese rock-band, The Pillows, would return to provide music for the series. The dub will air on Toonami, and be simulcasted on Adult Swim’s streaming platform, with Toho distributing the series in Japan. In addition, the panel also hosted the first teaser trailer for both seasons, which can be viewed below:

Furthermore, DeMarco explained that both, FLCL 2 and FLCL 3 will feature different stories pertaining to Haruko, and Medical Mechanica. The story of FLCL 2 will feature a young girl named Hidomi, who meets a substitute teacher that looks like Haruko. This will lead to Hidomi, and her classmate, Ide, becoming involved with conflict between Haruko, and Medical Mechanica. Then as for FLCL 3, information about its plot are still unconfirmed at this time.
