Deborah Chow to Direct Disney+ “Obi-Wan Kenobi” Series

The official Star Wars website has updated with an announcement that Deborah Chow will be directing the upcoming Disney+ exclusive series based on Obi Wan Kenobi. Hossein Amini will be working as the writer on the project. Chow will serve double duty as an executive producer with the help of Amini, Ewan McGregor, Kathleen Kennedy, Tracey Seaward, and John Swartz. Lucasfilm’s Executive Vice President of Production, Jason McGatlin, will work as the co-producer.

Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy had this to say about her inclusion on the project.

“We really wanted to select a director who is able to explore both the quiet determination and rich mystique of Obi-Wan in a way that folds seamlessly into the Star Wars saga. Based on her phenomenal work developing our characters in The Mandalorian, I’m absolutely confident Deborah is the right director to tell this story.”

No other details are confirmed at this time so stay tuned for updates. The Disney+ streaming service will launch on November 12.
