February 2019 Nintendo Direct Streamed

Nintendo recently held a new Nintendo Direct, which reveals some new details for some of the upcoming Nintendo Switch releases.

First, the direct revealed that Super Mario Maker will be getting a sequel titled, “Super Mario Maker 2.” This title looks to have a ton more options compared to the first game so expect crazier stages will be made.  Super Mario Maker 2 will be released for the Nintendo Switch this June.

Next, the direct took another look at Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order. The direct featured a look at some of the playable characters as well as a look at some of the game’s mechanics. Players will be able to play co-op on TV mode, locally up to three other players with their own systems, and online. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 The Black Order will be released this Summer.

Thirdly, the direct announced that a new Boxboy game will be released for the Nintendo Switch titled, “Boxboy+Boxgirl.” For the first time players will be able to play co-op. After beating the game players will be able to play as a new character named Qudy. Boxboy+Boxgirl will be released on April 26, 2019.

Fourthly, the direct took a look at the Ver 3.0 updated for Super Smash Bros Ultimate. While not much is known about this update, it has been revealed that Joker will be apart of the update and is set to release sometime before or around April 2019. It has also been revealed that Snake, Simon, Squirtle, Pokemon Trainer, and Ivysaur Amiibos are currently in development.

Fifthly, the direct featured a look at a new update for Captain Toad Treasure Tracker. With the Captain Toad Treasure Tracker Special Episode, players will be able to play co-op. The game will also receive some paid DLC, which will add 18 new challenges and five new courses. The update is currently available and a digital bundle will be available today.

Sixth, the direct revealed new details for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. The direct took a short look at some of the mechanics of the game including a peak at character customization. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will be released for the Nintendo Switch this Summer.

Seventh, the direct revealed that Dragon Quest Builders 2 will be heading to the Nintendo Switch on July 12, 2019.

Eighth, continuing with the Dragon Quest news, it has been revealed that Dragon Quest XI Echoes of Elusive Age Definitive Edition will be heading to the west. The game is set to release this Fall.

Ninth, the direct took a look a new game based on Tsum Tsums titled, “Disney Tsum Tsum Festival,” will be released for the Nintendo Switch. The game is set to release sometime in 2019.

Tenth, the direct revealed that the Nintendo Switch version of Starlink: Battle for Atlas will be getting some new content. Pigma, Leon, and Andrew will be joining the game. Falco, Peppy, and Slippy will also be playable, although it is unknown if there will be new figures or ships will be made to coincidence with them. The update will be released in April 2019.

Eleventh, it has been revealed that Rune Factory 4 Special is heading for the Nintendo Switch. This version of the game will also feature a new wedding mechanic. The game is set to release sometime in 2019 and a sequel is currently in the works.

Twelfth, the direct revealed that Square Enix will be developing an new action RPG titled, “Oninaki.” The game will be developed by the team that created “I am Setsuna,” and “Lost Sphere.” The game is set to release this Summer.

Thirteenth, the direct featured another look at Yoshi’s Crafted World. The game is set to release on March 29 and a demo will be available later today.

Fifteenth, the direct took a deeper look at Fire Emblem Three: Houses. Players will be creating an avatar character who will start off as a mercenary that is being lead by your father. Players will eventually travel to Garreg Mach Monastery, where they will teach new recruits at the Officer’s Academy. Players will need to choose which house they will choose as their leader, which includes the Edelgard of the Black Eagles, Prince Dimitiri of the Blue Lions, or Claude of the Golden Deer.

It has also been revealed that game will receive a special edition called Fire Emblem: Three Houses – Seasons of Warfare Edition.

The special edition of the game will include:

  • Game
  • Artbook
  • Sound Selection CD
  • Steelbook
  • Calendar

Fire Emblem Three Houses will be released on July 26.  

Sixteenth, the direct revealed that a new version of Tetris titled, Tetris 99,” will be released for free for Nintendo Switch Online members.

Eighteenth, it has been revealed that Dead by Daylight will be heading to the Nintendo Switch this Fall.

Nineteenth, it has been revealed that Deltarune Chapter 1 will be heading to the Nintendo Switch on February 28 and will be free.

Twentieth, the direct turned their attention to Kenichiro Tsukada, the producer of Daemon X Machina. While he didn’t have much to reveal about the game he has stated the game is still in steady development and that a free Prototype Mission demo will be available later today. He also revealed that select players who play the demo will also be able to participate in a survey about the game. Daemon X Machina is set to release this Summer.

Twenty-first, the direct took a look a new racing game heading to the Nintendo Switch titled, “GRID Autosport.” The game is set to release this Summer.

Twenty-second, the direct took a look at several games that will be ported to the Nintendo Switch. First it has been revealed that Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is heading to the Nintendo Switch this Spring. Next, the direct featured another look at Mortal Kombat 11, which will be released on April 23. Continuing on, it has been announced that Unravel 2 will be released on March 22.  Assassins Creed III Remastered is also headed for the Nintendo Switch on May 21.

Twenty-third, new details for the ports for Final Fantasy VII, Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon EVERY BUDDY!, and Final Fantasy IX. Final Fantasy VII will be released on March 26, while Chocobo’s Mustery Dungeon EVERY BUDDY! will be released on March 20. Final Fantasy IX will be released later today.

Twenty-fourth, a new game by Platinum Games was revealed titled, “Astral Chain.” The game is set to release on August 30, 2019.

Lastly, it has been revealed that The Legend of Zelda Link’s Awakening will be getting a HD remake.
