Nintendo recently held a new Pokémon direct, which revealed the eighth generation of the franchise. The presentation featured a look at some of the new Pokémon as well as revealing details about the new region. The next region will be known as the Galar Region. The new games will be titled, “Pokémon Sword,” and “Pokémon Shield.”
The three new Pokémon starters include:
- Chip Pokémon: Grooky
- Rabbit Pokémon: Scorbunny
- Water lizard Pokémon: Sobble
Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield are set to release for the Nintendo Switch worldwide in late 2019. No other details are confirmed at this time so stay tuned for updates.
Personally I think the new region looks interesting, however I am a bit worried that these starters may be a bit too generic. Hopefully their evolutions will look cool, however. The names of the games are also pretty intriguing and it does make me wonder what exactly the legendaries might be.
