“Fuuto Pi” Anime Series Trailer Streamed

Recently new details about the Fuuto Pi anime series has been revealed alongside a new trailer. For those who are not aware, the series is an adaptation of the “Futo Detective” detective manga that served as a sequel to the Kamen Rider Double series. The first volume of the manga was published in Weekly Big Comic Spirits in 2017 and ran for 10 volumes. Kamen Rider Double made its debut in 2009, and is the 11th Heisei Era installment within the Kamen Rider series. Hideaki Tsukada was previously confirmed as a producer on the project. The series was first announced last April. The series will be streamed exclusively on U-NEXT in Japan starting this August and will also be airing on TOKYO MX the same month. The series will be released by Funimation in North America.

The cast for the series includes:

  • Yoshimasa Hosoya: Shotaro
  • Koki Uchiyama: Philip
  • Mikako Komatsu: Akiko
  • Makoto Furukawa: Ryu Terui/ Kamen Rider Accel
  • Akira Sekine: Tokime
  • Daisuke Ono: Yukiji Bando

“Futo Detectives” is a sequel to the special effects drama “Kamen Rider W”. Set in the windy city where peace should have come, private detective Shotaro Sakata and his partner Philip confront a new mysterious incident. Shotaro is played by Yoshimasa Hosoya , Philip is played by Koki Uchiyama , and Akiko Sekine is the magical beauty who meets Shotaro at the pier at night. In the role of Mikako Komatsu , Ryu Terui who is a detective belonging to the supernatural crime investigation section of the Futo station and also a masked rider accelerator, Makoto Furukawa , a mysterious man with high charisma and deep knowledge of Gaia memory, Mantoyuki Daisuke Ono will appear as a samurai.

The official twitter page will also have a special retweet campaign, which will run until March 26. Followers will be able to win a set of six autographed visual posters. Additionally, further episodes past the first two episodes of Kamen Rider W will be streamed on the “Toei Tokusatsu World Official” channel starting today from 9 PM JST and each week two new episodes will be streamed weekly.
