Naruto Shinden TV Anime Adaptation Announced

The recent issue of the weekly Shonen Jump magazine has announced that Naruto The New Legend of Naruto (Naruto Shinden) novel will be receiving an anime adaptation. The anime will premiere on Sunday, February 20 in Japan and will air for three weeks. Currently it is unknown if the anime will be apart of the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations anime’s run.

For those who aren’t aware, the Naruto Shinden novel is apart of a trilogy of novels. The novel trilogy consisted of: Naruto Shinden, Sasuke Shinden, and Shikamaru Shinden. The novels took place in the adult lives of the three characters during their time as parents. Naruto Shinden was released in Japan on May 2, Sasuke Shinden was released on June 4, and Shikamaru Shinden was released on July 4. Mirei Miyamoto served as the main writer of Naruto Shinden, while Jun Esaka and Takashi Yano worked on Sasuke Shinden and Shikamaru Shiden, respectively. Naruto series creator, Masashi Kishimoto, worked on the illustrations for all three novels.
