We start with a startling reveal, a brand-new Gundam Seed English dub! Sunrise has decided to re-dub both Mobile Suit Gundam Seed and Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny using their recent HD remaster releases from Japan. This new dub will feature a new cast as well that is different than the mid-2000’s Bandai Entertainment dub. The cast is as follows:
- Max Mittelman as Kira
- Chris Hackney as Athrun
- Stephanie Sheh as Lacus
- Sandy Fox as Haro
- Cherami Leigh as Cagalli
- Erica Mendez as Flay
- Lucien Dodge as Sai
- Cassandra Morris as Miriallia
- Colin DePaula as Tolle
- Eddy Lee as Kuzzey
- Daman Mills as Yzak
- Johnny Yong Bosch as Dearka
- Casey Mongillo as Nicol
No announcement has been made as to where this new dub will be broadcast first. Possibly on Hulu, where Gundam Seed currently streams. It could also air on Toonami or debut on a Blu-Ray release. Stay tuned for further updates.

Following the announcement of its existence earlier this year at Anime Expo 2017, the Mobile Suit Gundam Wing Ultra Edition has been formally announced with a price, release date and contents list. The set is scheduled for a December 5, 2017 release, just in time for the holiday season. This limited edition Blu-Ray release of the series includes 13 discs which is comprised of:

This marks the first release for North America of the Operation Meteor and Frozen Teardrop OVAs. These OVAs will be Japanese audio only while the series and Endless Waltz will include the original English dub by Bandai Entertainment as well as Japanese audio. Across the 13 Blu-Ray discs, there is a large amount of bonus features that will be placed across the collection including a disc with bonus features only present in the Ultra Edition. Naturally this Ultra Edition wouldn’t be complete without some physical bonuses as well. Included in the set are as follows:
- 5 Piece Metal Pin Set featuring the original Operation Meteor Gundam pilots
- 5 Art Cards of the Operation Meteor Gundams
- 5 Tarot Cards of the original Operation Meteor Gundam pilots
- 3 Posters featuring art from the series

The Mobile Suit Gundam Wing Ultra Edition has a list price of $269.99 but should be lower at retailers such as RightStuf and Amazon. RightStuf is currently running a special price for the announcement weekend. You can see the RightStuf order page here.

For those Gundam Wing fans wanting a less expensive and less extensive version of the show to own, Nozomi Entertainment will also be releasing the following separate from the ultra edition:
- Mobile Suit Gundam Wing Collection 1 (Episodes 1-25)

The two TV series collections are releasing in November 7, 2017 and Endless Waltz will release in December 2017. Both Blu-Ray and DVD versions will be released at these times. The content is similar to the Ultra Edition, however, the amount of content is significantly lower and the price is lower as a result.

That about does it for Gundam news at Otakon 2017. I have personally never seen this much news for the series come out of a convention in a very long time. Gundam seems to being getting popular again in North America and I cannot wait to see what will happen next. For all your Gundam news, keep following Hero Club.
