September 2022 Nintendo Direct Streamed

Earlier today, Nintendo held a Nintendo Direct that took a look some upcoming games for the Nintendo Switch. In addition, the Nintendo Direct featured some updates to recently launched titles.

First, the direct took a look at the latest title in the Fire Emblem series. The next entry will be called Fire Emblem Engage and it seems it will allow players to summon several heroes from the past. The game will launch on January 20, 2023. A special edition of the game known as the Fire Emblem Divine Edition will also be available.

 

Next, the direct revealed that It Takes Two will be released on the Nintendo Switch on November 4. Then the third reveal was that a remake of Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse will be released on the Nintendo Switch. The original version of the game was released exclusively in Japan for the Nintendo Wii in 2008. So, this will be the first official English localized release of the game. The game is set to release sometime in 2023.

 

The fourth reveal was on new details for the second wave of DLC for Xenoblade Chronicles 3. The second wave will feature a brand new hero named Ino. Like other heroes in the game, by completing her hero quest the player will be able to unlock as an assist character. The second wave will also feature Challenge Battles. These special challenges will allow the player to receive rewards such as accessories and outfits. The second wave of DLC for the game will be released on October 13.

 

Surprisingly, the fifth reveal was a new trailer for Spongebob Squarepants: Cosmic Shake. Unlike many older games based on Spongebob Squarepants, the game will feature the original actors’ voices. The game is set to release in 2023. However, that was followed by a look at a new game in the Fitness Boxing series, which will feature characters from the Fist of the North Star franchise. Fitness Boxing Fist of the North Star will be released in 2023.

 

Then the seventh reveal is for a new battle mini-game game called Oddballers, which will release in early 2023. Whereas, the eighth reveal was that Tunic will be released for the Nintendo Switch on September 27. Following that the ninth reveal took another look at Front Mission 1st: Remake. The first game will be released this November and Front Mission 2 will be released in 2023. Additionally, the direct revealed that Front Mission 3 will also be receiving a remake.

 

Moving onwards to the tenth reveal, it was proclaimed that Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life will be receiving a remake. Also, the game is set to be released in Summer 2023. Afterwards, the direct revealed details for the next Splatoon 3 Splatfest. The Splatfest’s theme will be Gear, Grub, and Fun on a deserted island. The Splatfest will be held on Sept 23 starting at 5 PM PT and will end on September 25 at 5 PM PT. However, that was followed by an announcement that Octopath Traveler will be receiving a sequel. The game will feature a new day and night cycle which was not a feature in the first game. Octopath Traveler 2 will be released on February 24, 2023.

 

Eventually, the direct revealed a new farm simulator RPG called Fae Farm. The game will feature 4 players local and online co-op. The game will be released exclusively on the Nintendo Switch in Spring 2023. Then the direct revealed a look at a new game in the Final Fantasy Theaterythm game series titled, Final Fantasy Theaterythm Final Bar Line.” The game will feature 385 songs and players will be able to play both offline with Pair Style and online via Online-Multi Battles. Additionally, paid DLC will be made available later, which features songs from Nier, Octopath Traveler, Live A Live, and more. Also, a season pass for the game will be available. Final Fantasy Theaterythm Final Bar Line will be released on February 16, 2023.

 

Next the direct featured another look at Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope. Whereas, the latest trailer showcases some of the locales and features a peak at the some of the Sparks. The Gold Edition of the game will include the Megabug Collection. Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope will be released on October 20, 2022. Following that the direct revealed that Rune Factory 3 Special will be released for the Nintendo Switch in 2023. Also, it was revealed that a new title in the Rune Factory series is currently in development. After the Rune Factory announcement the direct revealed a new line-up of games that will be released for the N64 Online. Additionally, Golden Eye 64 is coming soon to the service with online play. The line-up currently includes:

2022

2023

  • Mario Party 3
  • Pokémon Stadium
  • Pokémon Stadium 2
  • 1080 Snowboarding
  • Excite Bike 64

18th, the direct revealed a look at a new Square Enix RPG titled, “Various Daylife,” which will be available on the Nintendo Switch later today. 19th, the direct revealed a look at a management sim game titled, “Factorio.” The game will launch on October 28. 20th, the direct revealed that the horror game “Ib,” is set to release for the Nintendo Switch in Spring 2023. 21st, the direct revealed the next update for Mario Striker: Battle League. The second update will feature new playable characters, which includes Pauline and Diddy Kong. The update will also feature new gear as well as another stadium. The update will be released later this month.

 

22nd, the direct revealed a look at the third Atelier Ryza game. Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key will be released on February 24, 2023. 23rd, the direct featured a sneak peak at the third wave of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC. The first two tracks revealed wer Merry Mountain from Mario Kart Tour and Peach Gardens from Mario Kart DS. The third wave of DLC will be released this Holiday season.

 

24th, the direct revealed the next update for Nintendo Switch Sports. The next update will be Golf to the game and will feature around 21 courses. Players will be able to play up to 8 players online via Survival Golf. The update will be released this Holiday season. 25th, the direct took a look at the long awaited sequel in the Pikmin franchise. Pikmin 4 is set to release in 2023. 26th, the direct took a look at Just Dance 2023 Edition, which is set to release on November 22. 27th, the direct took another look at Harvestella and a demo will be available later today. Players will be able to transfer their saves to the full game. Harvestella will be released on November 4, 2022.

 

28th, the direct revealed a new look at Bayonetta 3. In the game Bayonetta will be saving the world as she fights off against the Homunculi. A new trailer for the game will be available later today. Bayonetta 3 will be released on October 28. 29th, the direct revealed a new game by the creators of the Danganronpa game series titled, “Enigma Archives: Rain Code.” The game will launch first exclusively on the Nintendo Switch in Spring 2023.

 

30th, the direct revealed that a cloud version of Resident Evil Village will be released on October 28. A demo of the game will be available today and the Winters Expansion DLC will be released on December 2. Cloud versions of Resident Evil Biohazard, Resident Evil 2, and Resident Evil 3 will also be released later this year.

31st, the direct featured a showcase of several games, which include:

  • Fall Guys – Season 2 – September 15

32d, the direct revealed that a remastered version of Kirby Return to Dream Land will be released for the Nintendo Switch. The game will feature new updated visuals along with a new form for Kirby called Mecha Kirby. The game will also feature new sub games including fan favorites. Kirby Return to Dream Land Deluxe will be released on February 24, 2023. Lastly, the direct revealed a look at the sequel to The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild. The game will be titled,” The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom,” and is set to release on May 12, 2023.
