The official Sonic the Hedgehog Youtube channel has updated with the Gamescom 2022 trailer for Sonic Frontier. The latest trailer takes a deeper look at the game’s premise and showcases several locales that will be featured in the game. Additionally, the trailer revealed the game’s release date. Sonic Frontiers will be released for the Playstation 5, Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Steam on November 8, 2022. Those who pre-order the game will also receive The Adventurer’s Treasure Box, which include; Blue Seeds of Defense, Skill Points, and Red Seeds of Power.
Personally, I felt that promotion cycle for this game have been more of a miss than a hit up to this point. The sprinkle of information have struggled to give a good image for this game, however some of the latest trailers have helped bring a better light to this project. That being said this trailer was much better than the usual trailers we received as it showed a better look at the premise of the game and not just random single locales with no context. It is also nice to see a release date for the game. In conclusion, I feel like this game has more potential than before so hopefully it leads to a good experience.
