Yesterday, Spin Master Corp. announced it has entered a three-year licensing agreement with Warner Bros. Consumer Products. This new licensing agreement is specifically for DC Comics properties, and will focus on remote control/ robotic vehicles, water toys and games/ puzzles.
Below is Spin Master’s official statement regarding the deal:
“Partnering with an iconic brand like DC is a major milestone for Spin Master and is part of our strategy to invest in successful licenses to further grow and diversify our business,” said Ben Gadbois, Spin Master’s Global President and COO. “Children everywhere have been entertained and inspired by DC Super Heroes™ and Super-Villains™ for more than 80 years and we’re honored to be a part of that storytelling and imagined play. We are looking forward to bringing Spin Master’s renowned innovation to the toy line and to sharing more details about this exciting partnership in the new year.”
Now, this three-year licensing agreement between Spin Master Corp. and Warner Bros. Consumer Products will begin in Spring 2020. In addition, it is unknown if this licensing agreement is for the master toy license to produce DC products. Currently, the master license is owned by Mattel however, the company has yet to publicly announce if they lost the license, or rebuke these claims. Nevertheless, no other details have been confirmed, so please stay tuned for further updates.
