Kraken Releasings Updates GARO: Makai Senkyu

Since the initial licensing for the series, Kraken Releasings has referred to the second GARO series as Makai Senkyu. However, recently product information on the upcoming Blu-Ray releases shows that Kraken Releasings decided to forgo the re-brand and stick to the original name, Makai Senki. Kraken Releasings’ Licenses GARO: Makai Senkyu

Sentai Filmworks has recently confirmed they have now licensed the second GARO television series, Makai Senkyu (originally referred to as Makai Senki). The confirmation came via the site’s store featuring the pre-order for the first Blu-Ray collection set for this series. Kraken Licenses Garo: Red Requiem Live-Action Film Release

Section23 Films has announced that Kraken Releasing will be releasing the Garo: Red Requiem (Kiba ~Ankoku Kishi Gaiden~) film on Blu-Ray on April 10, 2018.  For those who haven’t been following the Garo franchise, Garo: Red Requiem premiered in Japan on October 30, 2010.  The film featured the return of Ryosei Konishi who once again portrays Kouga Saejima/GARO.  The film also introduced some new characters such as Mary Matsuyama as Rekka, and Mika Hijii as the voice of Karma. Mika Hijii portrayed Kaoru in the original series, however she played a new role for the film.   Kraken Releasing provided a synopsis for the film. Keita Amemiya Announces New Garo Projects

Keita Amemiya, creator of the Garo franchise, has recently announced that three new Garo productions are currently in the works.  Two productions will be live-action while the third will be a new anime series. The first project will be called Divine Fang (Kami no Kiba).  While there isn’t much known about this project, the kanji implies that Jinga (Masahiro Inoue), Gold Storm Sho’s main villain, will be featured.   The second project will be called The Moonlight Traveler (Gekkou no Tabibito).  Once again not much is known about this project.
